Statistics
Mar Ivanios Minor Seminary was started in 2007,when the diocese of Mavelikara was inaugurated. The seminary got the name after the founder of the reunion movement, Mar Ivanios. Mar Ivanis Minosr Seminary was started to provide a wholistic formation for those who aspire for priesthood in the Eparchy of Mavelikara, in the Syro Malankara Catholic Church. It was started in the parish hall of the Kallumala parish, and the foundation stone was laid on 8 October 2007 and was blessed on 28 January 2012. After the succesful completion of ten or plus two, candidates join in the seminary and have their early formation there. Once the minor seminary formation is completed, they will be sent for philosophical formation in various major seminaries of Kerala. Regency is the time for those who complete their philosophical studies. Brothers serve in the various parishes or instituions for practical formation and will be sent for theological formation. At the end of theologicalstudies, Diconate ministry is arranged and will be ordained at the end of the ministry.
